I thought it was time…

but I was wrong. It was early Wednesday morning, around 1:30am. I woke up to contractions that remained steady- and I just didn’t feel good. Within a few hours, the contractions were 6 minutes apart…but I also had some unpleasant and unexpected symptoms… (nausea and big D, enough said!). I tried to zone in and out of sleep for the next few hours- but by 4:30 I woke up Dave and by 5:30am I had called our labor and delivery unit. They told me it sounded like I was in early labor and to go ahead and make my way into the hospital. Alece (Senior, of course!) took me to the hospital and Dave was going to join me after getting Silas settled in with a babysitter. After what felt like an eternity… a doctor came in and checked my cervix- only to tell me that nothing had changed… so this likely wasn’t labor. The negative symptoms continued… and then the vomiting started. Turned out, I had some sort of nasty bug/infection. To make a long story short- I stayed in the hospital through late morning on Thursday. During the overnight hours I had spiked and then broke a fever, which was causing baby girl to have fluctuating and high heart-rates. There was some brief concern/discussion of a c-section to help her stabilize… but thank God… He stabilized us both within a few more hours and I got to leave the hospital still pregnant. Feeling a bit down and out… but still pregnant.

So… the road to meeting this little one continues. If she’s not here by Wednesday, the 11th… I’m scheduled for an inducement or c-section, depending on where my body is at that point. So… if you think of me these next few days… pray. Pray that my body will go in to labor spontanously… that it will be prepared for a natural delivery… for peace… for confidence that this is all in God’s hands.

And just for some humorous enjoyment at the end of this post… I share with you my belly. This picture was taken right before we departed for the hospital. The shadow on the wall really tells it all. Baby has totally dropped… and quite frankly, I’m just huge. Not long to go now…

You are SO CLOSE. I can’t believe you’re 39 weeks. I’ve never done that either. Wow! Praying for you.

i looked at the photo first and commented to Jack that you had really dropped….I’m praying for nature to start things before Wednesday… that drip is not the most fun way to go. God knows, my friend. HE is the one in the driver’s seat and His Will will be done. But I’m still pleading on your behalf!

i must say it has been fun these past days commenting with Alece Senior. She is such a wonderful friend to you….you are truly blessed!

Wow, that is a great photo! I am sorry you felt so yucky, as it these last days aren’t enough you have to get a bug on top of it!

Also, and this is just my two cents……trust your body. If you feel that the 11th is too soon for induction or C section then don’t be afraid to let your doc know. If there is no medical reason to do either (and from what I have heard they will make one up, so not sure how reliable that is!) and you don’t have a peace, then wait. Sorry…I know you are getting lots of advice, but that is just my two cents for you. :) Hugs!!!

Okay, I fixed my RSS issue and hopefully you should be getting updates now! Silly me just didn’t have the box checked and to be honest up until a few days ago I didn’t really understand it. Thanks to you and Alece for giving me a little nudge! :)
