happy birth day

Guest Post by a Friend

At 1:20 this afternoon, Alece Sophia Riep was welcomed into the world through c-section. Amy sure knows how to grow ‘em… Alece is 9 pounds, 6 ounces, and 21 inches long. And Dave got his wish… she has a full head of jet-black hair!

She is absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t look at her enough.

Mom and Baby are both doing great; Dave is spending the night at the hospital with them.

The four of us (Dave and Amy, my husband and I) have always been “The Kitties”. Always. When Silas came around, he—of course—joined the Kitty clan. We’ve evened things out today with another female Kitten.

And this littlest kitty has won my heart.

okay…it was late and I was very tired last night when I read your post…I took time this mornign to come back and slow down….

Amy….you look MARVELOUS! Your eyes look so calm and happy. did they suck all the anxiety out of you after Alece Jr came out, or were you still feeling some happy drugs? What ever the case…I’m glad to see you so relaxed.

I can’t imagine what the next 6 weeks/6 months are going to be like for you, but I do know this….God WILL carry you through even this.

This is said in full humor, but do you have lipstick on? That is impressive, lovely mother! Congratulations on your daughter! But mostly I applaud you as a strong and courageous woman for embarking on another birth of one of your children! I bless you in the first few moments and days with one another; may there be sweet times of bonding and ease of breastfeeding.

She’s gorgeous! And you look positively amazing, Amy. I can’t wait to meet Alece Jr. (and I’d also like to meet Sr. sometime too ;)

What a blessing for Email and to be able to see our beautiful little granddaughter. She truely is a beauty just like her mom. Can’t wait to be there to snugggle and love on her. And of course you and my big boy Silas. Another new phase of your life and family. God is so good. He has answered so many prayers. I’m sure Dave is a proud daddy right now as well. You guys make beautiful babies, and grandchildren for us to love and cherish. See you soon, big hugs and kisses to all.

“It's not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can't tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself."
